The Loan Assistant provides support to Relationship Managers with large or upper middle market portfolio's that have variety degree of difficulty. Performs optimum support to Relationship Managers by remaining aware of department goals, provide ongoing communication and organizing priorities to meet deadlines.  Assist customers with inter-bank telephone transfers and account balances. Type loan and credit memorandums and assist Commercial Lender with loan closings and fundings. Prepare loan advances, clear up loan exceptions, and call on past due loans to secure payment.Coordinates Relationship Managers' schedules, makes appointments.  Customer service skills are necessary in this position to meet with customers on the loan officer’s behalf, and they must help to determine that a loan complies with all necessary regulations. Perform other duties as assigned and including, but not limited to, items detailed below.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to RM(s)
  • Handle loans to include commercial, commercial real estate, SBA, and participation loans. 
  • Responsible for completing all requirements of loan bookings to include all preparation, review, documentation and filing.
  • Responsible for all loan documents preparation, including third party document coordination, completion and review.
  • Collects and review all required collateral information and maintains all exceptions.
  • Review all commercial loan packages for proper documentation, determine if all commercial loan-closing documents were returned, and comply with the quality review.

  • Process paperwork for new loan and loan renewals, new account opening, account transfers.
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank products and services and use such knowledge to sell, cross-sell, refer, and promote business growth as is appropriate. 
  • Document customer interactions and accurately capture data using company loan processing systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and local rules, laws, and regulations.
  • Educate clients and assist them through the loan process.
  • Assist in past due ratios, credit and collateral exceptions.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years Lending Assistant experience, preferably in the Commercial loan area
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skill for effective interactions with customers.

  • Detailed oriented with ability to multi-task.

  • Must be self-motivated and also work in a team environment.

  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking skills and ability to work with frequent interruptions.

  • Good time management skills, task orientation, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
